TIMES AUSTRALIATuhan Izinkan Aku Berdosa or literally translated as God, Allow Me to (make) Sin, directed by the renowned Hanung Bramantyo, is now available on Netflix. This movie haas had its successful premiere on May 22, 2024.

The movie, written by Ifan Ismail and adapted from Muhiddin M Dahlan's novel Tuhan Izinkan Aku menjadi Pelacur, presents an in-depth story of human struggle in facing hypocrisy, a theme that is relevant in the midst of religious society. 

The movie features an impressive cast, including Aghniny Haque, Donny Damara, Djenar Maesa Ayu, and Andri Mashadi. The lineup is further enriched by notable appearances from Nikita Mirzani, Keanu AGL, and Nugie, adding depth to its complex characters.  

In an interview, Hanung Bramantyo a promsin movie director in Indonesia shared his vision for the film. “This film is about how we, as religious people, fight against hypocrisy. I hope it can help others in their struggle against hypocrites," he sad to a local media.   

A Deep Storyline with a Strong Moral Message

This movie tels follows the journey of Kiran, a young woman played by Aghniny Haque, as she grapples with moral and spiritual dilemmas. Surrounded by people close to her who live in hypocrisy, she strives to uphold the principles of goodness she firmly believes in.  

The film not only explores issues of faith but also highlights how hypocrisy can harm interpersonal relationships. With its strong characters, the movie encourages audiences to reflect on the importance of integrity in religious and social life.  

Since its release, Tuhan Izinkan Aku Berdosa has garnered significant attention from Indonesian audiences. Many have praised the film for its boldness in tackling a rarely discussed theme.

Aghniny Haque’s performance as Kiran has been widely acclaimed, with critics noting her ability to portray the character's emotional struggles with great depth.
