The Executive Chef of Surabaya Suites Hotel, Nehemia Christifan always maintains the authenticity of this menu, which always comes in a huge portion. A smaller portion for 2 or 3 people is also available.

“We are maintaining its huge portion, which is made of 2 kilograms of rice and enough for 5 or 6 people. We put half a kilogram of chili for each portion of fried rice to get the extra spiciness. There is also a smaller portion of this dish available on the menu,” said Christifan on Sunday (16/8/2020).

Chef Christ is trying to take this signature dish into a new level. Both variants of the fried rice menu, the seafood and chicken fried rice are combined with various seasonings to get its irresistible, mouth-watering taste.

The seafood variant is made with the combination of shrimp, squid, fish, and scallop, garnished with crispy fried seafood, egg, fried onion, and leek. Meanwhile, the chicken variant is complemented with the signature chicken satay. It does not take too long to have the fried rice served with perfection to your dining table for 10 until 15 minutes.

Two kilograms of the extra spicy fried rice contains half a kilogram of chili. For those who don’t like spicy foods can also order the same dish with a lower level of spiciness.

“For those who don’t like extra spicy foods, there is a lower level of spiciness for this menu. However, we only have two levels of spiciness, spicy and extra spicy,” Chef Christ said.

Chef Christ combined a mixture of Javanese and oriental spices. This perfect collaboration will have everyone who has already tried the menu hooked to it.

“I made the menu with the characteristics suitable with the people in Surabaya who love the mixture of spicy and tasteful dishes,” he said.

“Even the fried rice lovers left some comments that it has a mouth-watering taste and aroma and a strong taste. People in Surabaya don’t like foods with vague taste”.

Both variants of this fried rice will leave the old variant of this menu, Jancok Fried Rice. However, the brand has already been claimed and patented by other fried rice vendor, thus Chef Christ rebranded this menu in Surabaya Suites Hotel.

“We had a phenomenal Jancok Fried Rice in our restaurant, but one day someone claimed and patented the brand. Thus, we made a new variant and name for one of our signature menu, which now comes with stronger taste and a bigger portion. We also successfully put the dish into a new class,” said Chef Christ.
