TIMES AUSTRALIA, CIAMISKarang Kamulyan sites was known to be one site where the local legend Ciung Wanara was believed to spend some time at this place when he happened to pass by. This site was known to be the remaining site of Galuh Kingdom in 7th Century.

Located at Cijeunjing, Ciamis, West Java, the site was situated on a 25 hectares area. On this are, there were lots of historical site with several different functions.  One site was used to a place for rooster fight, some for meeting hall, and some for place to rest.

Each sites has their own exotic form of stones. Some are a was used for cemetery. Some tombs that belongs to Adipati Panaekan or Duke of Panarkan, Pamangkonan and Patimuan Leuwi Sipatahunan were laid into his area.

From this place you will see a river intersection of Citanduy and Cimuntur river. Legend has it that Ciung Wanara was found floating on a basket in this intersection by Mr and Mrs Balangantrang.

There will be a small pathway which was said as a road that connect Pajajaran and Majapahit kingdom. Located on remote area the pathway were still surrounded by lush green tress and seems like to bring to another side of the world.

Beside the beauty of the site and scenery around, you will also find lots of exotic monkey hopping and swinging around the area. Karang Kamulyan will be a perfect place for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city as well learn some of local history. (*)
