TIMES AUSTRALIA, MALANG – Kampung Warna-Warni or the Village of Color always becomes one single tourist destination to go once you visit Malang. This place has always become an oasis of color and art, a project that has delighted visitors and revitalized the local community.
This place has been temporarily closed due to the pandemic. Yet the visitors now could enjoy all the sensation of finding burst of colors on every corner of the village which located after the local government reopened this place on Friday (4/9/2020).
“The closure was meant to protect the people from Covid-19. The local community’s safety is put beyond everything,” Sony Parin, the local public figure said on Saturday (5/9/2020).
He also said that the local management has installed several facilities needed to keep up with the pandemic. They have installed several sink at the village to ease the visitors to wash their hand occasionally. They will also force them to wear a mask and check their temperature.
During the pandemic, the management along with the community repainted several corner of the village that they think need to be retouched. “We polish them with a new paint so it looks good once the village reopened,” he added.
