TIMES AUSTRALIA, PROBOLINGGO – Bromo will have new attraction to go beside of its popular active crater. It's the suspension bridge with all glass covering the floor. This glass bridge was said to be the iconic attraction of Bromo.

The construction had been started since the beginning of 2022. And now it has been finished and ready to be opened for public. The local management planned to open this suspension bridge by the end of the year before Christmas.

This glass bridge is located at Cemoro Lawang, Ngadisari, Sukapura, Probolinggo, East Java. It 120 meters long, 1.8 to 3 meters wide on top of 80 meters deep ravine under the glass bridge. 

The President of Indonesia Joko Widodo was planned to join the grand opening which will be held in few days from now. It was expected that this glass bridge will attract more people coming to Bromo.

From this glass bridge you will be given such an astonishing view of the local scenery in Cemoro Lawang. You could also see the magnificent Mount Bromo and Semeru far ahead. Not to mention the exotic view of Mount Batok which located next to Bromo crater when the weather was clear from fog.

But the most part was just like any other glass bridge, it will challenge your nerve to the top. It is because down under the bridge was a deep 80 meters ravine which make you think twice to cross it. Even normal people without acrophobia will be tremble if they have to cross this bridge.

The mayor of Probolinggo Timbul Prihanjoko said that the construction still needs a finishing process. Timbul said on two weeks ago he said they were still working on the supporting infrastructure to make this attraction perfect. 

"The local government of Probolinggo and the local community expect that the president will make time to do the grand opening. As for now the progress was still 80 percent," Timbul said on Saturday (3/11/2022).

Just for your information, the suspension glass bridge was built with qualified materials. The glass was built from SPG laminated glass. The glass was said to be able to hold around 9 tons of mass weight at the same time. 

It means that it could accommodate around 100 people at the same time. But the management will limit the number of people crossing the bridge for the safety. 
The management also build an amphitheater, drop zone, shuttle zone, pavement, and a mini and mini terminal to support the attraction. They also added some Balinese gate to strengthen the local atmosphere.

The Bromo suspension glass bridge was expected to be able to help the local economy and raise the number of visitors coming to this place. (*)
