SURABAYASurabaya is offering one of Indonesia’s most affordable urban tourism promotions this May 2026 as part of the city’s 733rd anniversary celebration. Through the city anniversary day program, the Surabaya City Government has launched a special initiative allowing tourists to visit several iconic destinations for super cheap price.

The visitors could go to certain destinations for just Rp733 during weekends and national holidays throughout May. This program highlights the city’s effort to make tourism more accessible while stimulating local economic growth.

The Surabaya administration collaborated with Bank Jatim to introduce this budget-friendly campaign across several major attractions, including THP Kenjeran, Museum 10 November, Wisata Perahu Kalimas, and Kebun Raya Mangrove.

These destinations represent a broad tourism spectrum, from cultural heritage and historical education to environmental tourism and scenic river exploration.

The initiative is designed not merely as a tourism discount but as part of a wider economic strategy to boost the tourism sector and support local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Acting Head of Surabaya’s Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office, Herry Purwadi, emphasized that the anniversary momentum is being used to broaden public access to tourism while simultaneously encouraging greater economic circulation in the city.

"We use this momentum to broaden the cccess of local community to the certai tourist destination and to promote the tourism itseld as well the economy," he stated (2/5/2026).

The promotion also includes the Surabaya Sightseeing and City Tour (SSCT) program, which continues to operate with special “SSCT Traktiran” offers every Friday.

This gives visitors additional affordable options to explore Surabaya’s urban landmarks and city attractions beyond the discounted tourist sites. Through this combination of low-cost tickets and city tours, Surabaya is positioning itself as an inclusive and budget-conscious travel destination.

Tickets can be purchased online through the official Surabaya tourism platform, ensuring convenience and transparency for travelers. However, availability is limited due to daily quotas, especially for popular destinations such as Kebun Raya Mangrove Gunung Anyar, where only the first 25 visitors on eligible days can secure the Rp733 rate.

By blending cultural celebration, affordable recreation, and strategic tourism development, Surabaya’s HJKS 2026 campaign provides both domestic and international visitors with a rare opportunity to experience the city’s iconic attractions at minimal cost, reinforcing its image as a welcoming and economically vibrant destination.
