MALANGEid al-Fitr in Malang is not only about family gatherings and festive meals, but also about enjoying the beauty of nature. One of the most refreshing ways to celebrate the holiday is by visiting waterfalls scattered across the region.

Surrounded by lush greenery and cool mountain air, these destinations offer a peaceful escape after the busy days of Ramadan. Visiting these waterfalls allows families to reconnect with nature while creating lasting memories. Here are some waterfalls you can visit during Eid.

1. Coban Rondo (Batu)

Coban Rondo is easily accessible by car or motorbike from Malang city center, taking approximately 45 minutes. Public transportation is also available, with minibuses heading to Batu followed by a short taxi ride.

The road is paved and well-signposted, making it suitable for families. Visitors can park near the entrance and walk a short distance to the waterfall. In addition to the waterfall, Coban Rondo offers a labyrinth park, a café, and several picnic spots, making it ideal for children and adults alike.

2. Coban Talun

From Batu town, Coban Talun is about a 30-minute drive. Visitors can hire a local driver or take a motorbike taxi. The last stretch involves a short hike along a clearly marked path, which is safe for children with parental supervision.

Signboards guide tourists from the main road to the parking area. Coban Talun also features flower gardens, campsites, and the famous Apache Village for unique photo opportunities.

3. Coban Pelangi

Located near Mount Semeru, reaching Coban Pelangi requires a longer journey. Travelers usually drive 1.5 to 2 hours from Malang city. A combination of car and trekking is needed, as the final path passes through forest trails.

Wearing comfortable shoes, carrying water, and bringing a camera to capture the rainbow formations are highly recommended. This waterfall is perfect for adventurous families who enjoy light hiking and scenic views.

4. Coban Rais

Coban Rais is around 30 minutes from Batu. Visitors can use cars, motorbikes, or local transport. After reaching the parking area, there is a 15–20 minute walk to the waterfall and Batu Flower Garden.

The trail is safe but can get crowded during Eid holidays. Visitors can also explore creative photo spots such as bamboo bridges and swings installed along the hiking path.

Visiting waterfalls during Eid provides a refreshing alternative to staying indoors. Arriving early is recommended to avoid crowds, and planning transportation ensures a smooth trip.

Malang’s waterfalls offer a combination of relaxation, adventure, and quality family time. Spending Eid here can rejuvenate the body and spirit while providing unforgettable memories in Indonesia’s natural paradise. (*)
