TIMES AUSTRALIA, JAKARTA – Kuala Lumpur successfully hosted the World Youth Festival (WYF) 2024, an international event that took place from October 5 to 8, 2024. The festival brought together more than 100 young delegates from eight countries, including Cambodia, Kenya, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Gambia, and Pakistan.

These delegates competed in a challenging Business Idea Competition and participated in various personal development activities designed to help them grow into future leaders.

Organized by Youth Break the Boundaries, WYF 2024 provided a platform for young people to exchange ideas, create innovative solutions, and learn how to tackle global challenges. Youth Break the Boundaries is dedicated to empowering youth through international forums that encourage collaboration, cross-cultural learning, and leadership development.

The event inspired participants to think critically and innovatively, presenting business ideas that were not only relevant but had the potential to make a significant impact.

The competition involved delegates from eight countries, divided into 15 teams. Each team focused on one of five key sub-themes: Education, Food and Beverage, Fintech, Environment, and Creative Industries. The teams developed unique business concepts, which they presented with enthusiasm and creativity. These ideas addressed important global issues and offered practical, real-world solutions.

Several standout business ideas emerged during the competition, such as Getuk 4 U, which gave a modern spin to traditional local food, and Fast N Curious Environment, focused on quick, innovative solutions for environmental issues.

Other notable projects included BOTANIQ, which promoted sustainability through plant-based products Not to mention EDULINC, which introduced innovative approaches to education. These creative business names reflected the participants' out-of-the-box thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.

Beyond the competition, WYF 2024 also offered various entrepreneurship workshops, leadership training sessions, and collaborative activities. These events were designed to enhance the delegates' leadership abilities and creativity, while also encouraging resilience in facing global challenges.

The workshops provided a valuable opportunity for participants to broaden their knowledge, learn from industry experts, and collaborate with peers from diverse cultural and national backgrounds.

Aldi Subakti, Chair of Youth Break the Boundaries, emphasized that WYF 2024 was more than just a competition—it was a space for learning and collaboration. He also highlighted the importance of cross-cultural collaboration, calling it an effective way to gain new perspectives on global issues and work toward shared solutions.

"We are incredibly proud of the energy and enthusiasm shown by the delegates in presenting sustainable and innovative business solutions," he said.

With its wide range of innovative business ideas and development activities, World Youth Festival 2024 has established itself as a global platform that empowers young people to innovate.  The event fostered a spirit of competition while promoting unity and collaboration among young leaders from around the world.
